Spokesman Cycles Frequent renter card: $99 for five one-day bike rentals [caption id="attachment_99" align="alignright" width="169" caption="Rental Bikes"][/caption] How it works: Come in to any of our stores and buy a Frequent Renter Card for $99. This card is good for 5 day- long bike rentals (back by closing time). You can share your card with a friend and take out up to two bikes at a time.  Use it at any of our locations. Pick up a bike at one store and return it at another. All of our stores are open year round seven days a week. The bikes are multi-speed street hybrids and comfort bikes. We have a large variety of sizes in both men’s women’s and children’s sizes and out mechanics keep them in great condition. Helmets and locks are available for an additional fee.  You can read more about our rentals here. Wouldn’t it make more sense to just buy a bike? For most people, yes, buying a bike would be a good decision. We sell lots of great entry level bikes starting at around $350. Once or twice a year, we upgrade our rental fleet and sell the old rental bikes at a huge discount. But this is New York, so there are lots of reasons why someone might rather rent than own. You’re only here for the summer. You have a bike but your boyfriend/girlfriend/houseguest doesn’t. You really, absolutely, truly have no place to store a bike. A few more details: As with all rentals, you’ll still need to show photo id and a credit card when you pick up your rental bike. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. We don’t take reservations and bikes go out on a first come first served basis. We encourage you to come early on busy summer weekends, because all of the rentals do sometimes go out. Frequent Renter Card is not valid April 29-May 1 2011.
